Thank you for your interest in Townsville City Council's Economic Activation Partnerships 2026-27 Grant round. 

Economic Activation Partnerships are most suited to community organisations that have
a proven working history with Council and seek funding and/or in-kind support to facilitate
activities which grow Townsville.

It is important that you take the time to read through the Economic Activation Partnerships Guidelines 2026-2027 before you begin your application.

About the Program

This program is focused on enabling ongoing successful activities through the provision of annual or multi-year funding. Funding for a multi-year agreement is for a maximum of three years.

The program's objective is to create mutually beneficial agreements with community organisations to support the delivery of economic activation outcomes for Townsville.

Benefits may include enhancement of the profile of Townsville; fostering community pride; and driving job creation and growth in the local government area.

This program is focused on enabling on going successful activities through the provision of annual or multi-year funding. Funding for a multi-year agreement is for a maximum of three years.

You may be a recipient of a Economic Activation Partnership grant and still apply for other Council grants, however in your application you must disclose all types funding and in-kind support your organisation is receiving from Council.

Key Dates

Applications are open throughout the year and close April 1, annually or until funding is exhausted. 

 

Value of Funding

Cash: $5,000 - $50,000 GST exclusive

In-Kind (Venue fee waiver, hard-costs) $5,000 up to $50,000 GST exclusive

Total cash and in-kind combined not to exceed $50,000 GST exclusive per year. 

Your organisation can request support from Council in the form of both cash funding and/or in-kind support. In-kind support may consist of:

  • Council hire waiver fee;
  • In-kind hard costs – costs associated with hiring the Council venue, such as Council staff and cleaning

The total value of funding is the sum of cash funding and the value of any in-kind support.

This program provides funding with a total value between $5,000 and $50,000. Applications with a total value over $50,000 per year is by negotiation only. Please contact the Grants & Partnerships team to discuss.
