Applicant Guide

Thank you for your interest in Townsville City Council's Community Organisation Partnerships 2026-27 Grant round. 

The objective of this program is to support Townsville City Council's Corporate Plan Goals, respond directly to community need, foster social connection, build cultural ties, build community capacity, raise awareness of the Townsville region as a vibrant destination for tourism, events and promote the strong sporting and community activities within Townsville.  

It is important that you take the time to read through the Community Organisation Partnerships Guidelines 2026-2027 before you begin your application.

About the Program

This program is focused on enabling ongoing successful activities through the provision of annual or multi-year funding. Funding for a multi-year agreement is for a maximum of three years.

This program is most suited to community organisations that seek operational funding and/or in-kind support to facilitate ongoing activities which align with the public interest and improve the quality of life for residents in Townsville.

You may be a recipient of a Community Organisation Partnership and still apply for other Council grants, however in your application you must disclose all types funding and in-kind support your organisation is receiving from Council.

Key Dates

Applications open July 1, 2026, and close April 1, 2027, or until funds are exhausted. 

You are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow up to 45 days for approval notification.

Value of Funding

Cash: $5,000 - $50,000 GST exclusive

In-Kind (Venue fee waiver, hard-costs) $5,000 up to $50,000 GST exclusive

Total cash and in-kind combined not to exceed $50,000 GST exclusive

Your organisation can request support from Council in the form of both cash funding and/or in-kind support. In-kind support may consist of:

  • Council hire waiver fee;
  • In-kind hard costs – costs associated with hiring the Council venue, such as Council staff and cleaning

The total value of funding is the sum of cash funding and the value of any in-kind support combined.

This program provides funding with a total value between $5,000 and $50,000. Applications with a total value over $50,000 will not be funded under Community Organisation Partnerships.
