Component 4 supports the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings in the Townsville City Centre through General Rates waivers for a period of ten years capped at $250,000 per site, commencing in the first financial year following completion of works. Rate waivers are subject to Council’s annual budget and Revenue Statement. The waiver applies to the approved site and use and may transfer to a subsequent owner, subject to ongoing compliance with the approval conditions.
